Sustainability is more than:

  • waste management,

  • monitoring resource footprints,

  • recycling,

  • better energy efficiency,

  • etc…

We expand the concept of a sustainable business, including a variety of other critical dimensions.

Let’s begin by understanding the term; intersectionality.

Intersectionality is the acknowledgement that everyone has their own unique experiences of discrimination and oppression.

We must consider everything and anything that can marginalize people – gender, race, class, sexual orientation, physical ability, mental health, etc.

Modern “sustainable” business practices will only scratch the surface of what a true business model consists…

thats where intersectionality comes into play.

Sustainable Solutions

  • Gender is the internal and external expression of a person's identity.

It is important to understand that gender is not neatly divided along the binary lines of “man” and “woman.” A person's gender identification does not have to be male or female. Some people have no gender identity, while others have several gender identities. Others may describe themselves as neither, both, or somewhere in the middle.

People with different gender identities are not always accepted, which can have a severe influence on their mental health. This is why I eliminated all of the obstacles that existing gyms and fitness studios impose for their members.

By removing the emphasis on gendered paperwork information, fitness programs, health products and areas in the facility, we remove the social constructs and impose sustainable business practices for our members.

Sexual orientations and gender identities that aren't heterosexual or cisgender are often described by the acronym 2SLGBTQ+. It is an acronym that stands for 2Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning, and others.

  • There'll no longer be ‘gendered’ changing rooms. Each person has their own stall and is entitled to their own private space.

  • As an eco-conscious company, I aim to reduce our environmental impact & incorporate sustainable solutions for our lovely planet.

Here are some of the most prominent ways that Nat’s Health & Fitness incorporates eco-consciousness:

    • Biodegradable Cleaning Supplies

    • Washed/Sanitized Reusable Cleanup Rags

    • Efficient Energy Consumption Practices

    • Eco-Friendly LED Lighting (Gym and Change-Room)

    • Waste Minimization, Reduction & Recycling

  • Gender Neutral Paperwork

Fitness is not a trend. It is an essential part of a healthy life.
